The #ROCKing600Block campaign, originally launched by Shop Local For Good in January 2019, was developed to attract more visitors to the 600 Block of Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater during the Blast Friday Clearwater Concert Series.
Karena Morrison, Founder of Shop Local For Good, initially expanded on the existing "Downtown Clearwater 600 Block Rocks" Facebook page that was previously established by the 600 Block business owners, and developed the community campaign after accepting an invitation from the Ruth Eckerd Hall Experience team to assist in identifying, registering, and managing the vendors showcased on the 600 block during the "Blast Friday Clearwater" events managed by the Ruth Eckerd Hall team.
The #ROCKing600Block campaign has proven to be a fun and simple way for visitors to easily find out more about the additional live music, food, and local shopping available on the 600 Block of Cleveland Street during the festival. Shop Local For Good plans to expand the campaign to other events that will include the businesses located on the 600 Block of Cleveland Street.
"My passion is to assist in supporting the growth of our local small business neighbors while growing the MarketSpace For Good program," offered Mrs. Morrison, "and by combining my experience in grassroots organizing with any available resources that are being offered through other community programs, and through building collaborations with the hard-working small business families in our community, the entire Downtown Clearwater District grows together."
