The #ROCKing600Block campaign, originally launched by Shop Local For Good in January 2019, was developed to attract more visitors to the 600 Block of Cleveland Street in Downtown Clearwater during the Blast Friday Clearwater Concert Series.
Karena Morrison, Founder of Shop Local For Good, initially expanded on the existing "Downtown Clearwater 600 Block Rocks" Facebook page that was previously established by the 600 Block business owners, and developed the community campaign after accepting an invitation from the Ruth Eckerd Hall Experience team to assist in identifying, registering, and managing the vendors showcased on the 600 block during the "Blast Friday Clearwater" events managed by the Ruth Eckerd Hall team.
The #ROCKing600Block campaign has proven to be a fun and simple way for visitors to easily find out more about the additional live music, food, and local shopping available on the 600 Block of Cleveland Street during the festival. Shop Local For Good plans to expand the campaign to other events that will include the businesses located on the 600 Block of Cleveland Street.
Shop Local For Good aims to grow their community events that showcase local artists, artisans, authors and entrepreneurs through the MarketSpace For Good Entrepreneur Incubator at Station Square Creative Suites.
"My passion is to assist in supporting the growth of our local small business neighbors while growing the MarketSpace For Good program," offered Mrs. Morrison, "and by combining my experience in grassroots organizing with any available resources that are being offered through other community programs, and through building collaborations with the hard-working small business families in our community, the entire Downtown Clearwater District grows together."
Noting that Clearwater was lacking a weekly farmers market, and never a team to shy away from a challenge, the Shop Local For Good team launched the Downtown Clearwater Farmers Market & Community Showcase as a weekly opportunity for residents and visitors to enjoy supporting local organic farmers, artisans, artists, authors, and entrepreneurs. Currently showcased on the beautiful patio of the Station Square Creative Suites, plans are in place to expand the market to include the Station Square City Park.
MarketSpace For Good, an Entrepreneurial Incubator, showcases the works & words of over two dozen local artists, authors, artisans, and entrepreneurs in their Creative Suite at the Station Square Creative Suites from Tuesdays through Sundays. Much "more than a shelf" in a managed retail space, the Shop Local For Good team coaches each member on growing their brands and businesses throughout the Tampa Bay area by implementing what may be considered "outside the box" community campaigns to encourage our neighbors to understand their power to grow stronger communities through "Shopping Local" with their small business neighbors.
